Garden Centre Project

This sloping site was re-modelled to form terraces with gentle ramps to aid access for all customers. In line with our eco thinking we installed hundreds of square metres of permeable block paving to reduce loading on the main storm water facilities and diverted it into balancing ponds so that the rate of flow was controlled and couldn’t contribute to local flooding. These ponds will, over time, become havens for wildlife. The steepness of the land meant that we had to install extensive gabion retaining walls for which we utilised a beautiful local stone. During the project we extended the main warehouse to double its capacity whilst the Garden Centre remained fully operational. A really enjoyable project that was delivered on time despite the weather working against us on occasion.
